About RentalPermitPath
Why we built this
Rental licensing, registration, and inspection rules are public information, but they are scattered across city ordinance pages, PDFs, and departments that go by different names in every city. We research them directly from official city and county sources and organize them for the landlords who actually have to comply.
The problem
A landlord who gets a notice, has an inspection coming up, or is renting their first unit usually has no easy way to know exactly what their specific city requires, what an inspector will check, or what to do if something goes wrong. Searching often turns up outdated blog posts or rules from a different city entirely. We researched a set of cities directly from their own official sources, and we are honest about the many cities we have not gotten to yet.
How RentalPermitPath works
RentalPermitPath maintains free guides covering requirements by state, alongside free tools. The $79 City Rental License & Inspection Prep Packet assembles everything into one personalized, printable document.
Who we are
The RentalPermitPath team researches and maintains this content. We are not a law firm, medical practice, or financial advisor, and we do not replace the relevant licensing or regulatory authority; we make its requirements easier to follow.
